Dental Veneer
A Dental Veneer consists of an ultra-thin porcelain film that will cover the front and tip of a tooth. The installation of a veneer requires a sanding (micro-abrasion) of the face of the tooth of about 0.2mm. The dental veneer is a permanent solution that will be cemented to the face of the tooth.
A new generation of very thin dental veneers, called Lumineers, are less invasive because they measure between 0.1 and 0.2 mm in thickness and require no sanding of the face of the tooth. Made with a lithium discillate reinforced ceramic called E-Max, they are extremely hard and resistant.
Dental veneers are recommended when damaged or discolored teeth are still relatively well aligned within the dental arch. They can also be used to correct small tooth spacings.
